Health & Safety

Nyon Netball Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all of its members. The club believes that it is important that athletes, coaches, volunteers and supporters associated with Nyon Netball Club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or issues that they may have with the coach or appropriate member(s) of the committee.

Netball is a contact/contest sport and is physically challenging. It carries with it risks that we cannot entirely eliminate. Members agree to take full responsibility for any injuries that may occur. All members play with full knowledge, assumption and acceptance of all risks, losses, costs and damages involved and incurred as a result of their participation. Nyon Netball Club does not provide personal injury/accident insurance. All players play at their own risk and are responsible to take out their own personal injury/accident insurance.

Members must act responsibly and sensibly at all times. It is each member’s own responsibility to maintain their own fitness to ensure that they are fit and healthy for training and games. It is important to warm up properly before playing and to bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.

Nyon Netball Club encourages all pregnant players to discuss the risks associated with playing netball while pregnant with their medical practitioner.

A team first aid kit and ice will be available at every session but it is the member’s own responsibility to bring their own medications (epi-pen, ventolin, insulin, sugar etc…)

Please contact the club secretary if you would like to read our first aid/emergency procedure.

Players must wear suitable clothes and correct footwear for netball to avoid injuries.

No item of jewellery (including watches) can be worn, except for a wedding ring and/or medical alert bracelet but they must be taped.

All players should ensure their nails are short and smooth before taking to court.

Training Rooms

Participants agree and acknowledge that Nyon Netball Club does not own or have exclusive occupation of premises used and has little or no control in respect of persons entering the premises (including surroundings and other netball courts) and no control as to how the premises are used and left before/after training/competitions. No responsibility can be taken for any loss or damage to personal property.
